Follow these 8 steps to go from a blank spreadsheet to live marketing data using a preset template.
Prerequisites: You need a Detrics account and the Detrics add-on installed. If you haven’t done this yet, follow the installation guide first.

Open a Google Sheet

Go to sheets.new to create a new blank spreadsheet, or open any existing sheet where you want to pull data.

Open the Extensions menu

Click Extensions in the top menu bar.

Launch Detrics

Hover over Detrics - PPC, Marketing Analytics & Ecommerce, then click Launch Detrics from the submenu.
Don’t see Detrics in the list? You need to install the add-on first from Google Workspace Marketplace.

Select a data source

After a few seconds, the sidebar finishes loading and shows the Start from Preset screen with all available data sources. Click the platform you want to pull data from (e.g., Google Analytics 4).

Choose a preset template

Each template includes a name and short description. Click the one that matches the data you need.

Select your account

Choose which account to pull data from. Use the search box to filter by name, then check the box next to your account.

Execute the template

Click the Execute Template button to run the query. You can also click Customize Template to adjust metrics, dimensions, or date range before running.

See your results

Detrics fetches the data from the platform API and writes it directly into your spreadsheet. The sidebar shows a success message and an option to enable automatic daily refresh.
Enable Refresh daily at 9 AM to keep your data updated every morning automatically.
