These templates come with metrics, dimensions, and time frames already configured - it’s completely plug and play. This saves you significant time by eliminating the need to manually select metrics and dimensions, and prevents running into compatibility issues between different data fields.

Step-by-Step Guide to Create a Query with Detrics Templates

Open Detrics Sidebar

In Google Sheets, go to Extensions → Detrics → Open sidebar

Choose Start from Template

Instead of clicking “New Query”, select Start from Template to access pre-built configurations

Select Your Data Source

Choose which platform you want to import data from:
  • Google Ads
  • Meta Ads
  • Google Analytics
  • And more…

Browse Available Templates

View templates available for your selected data source:
  • Campaign Performance - Track key campaign metrics
  • Budget Tracker - Monitor spending and ROI
  • Conversion Analysis - Deep dive into conversion data

Select and Apply Template

Click on the template that matches your needs. The template will automatically configure:

Editing Template Settings

While templates come pre-configured, you have flexibility to customize them:
  1. Date Range: Adjust to any period you need
  2. Additional Metrics: Add extra metrics to the pre-selected ones
  3. Extra Dimensions: Include additional breakdown dimensions
  4. Filters: Apply filters to focus on specific campaigns, ad groups, etc.
  5. Output Location: Choose where in your sheet the data appears

Each template has a descriptive name that tells you:
  • What type of report it creates
  • Which metrics it focuses on
  • The intended use case
