ChatGPT Plus or higher required. MCP connectors are available on ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise plans. The free ChatGPT plan does not support external MCP connectors.

Setup

Follow the step-by-step setup guide in the Detrics web app:

Connect ChatGPT

Open the guided setup in the Detrics app — it will walk you through connecting ChatGPT in a few clicks.

Example prompts

Once connected, try these prompts in ChatGPT:
  • “How much did I spend on Facebook Ads this month?”
  • “Show my top 5 Google Ads campaigns by conversions”
  • “Compare this week’s ad spend to last week across all platforms”
  • “What’s my Shopify revenue for the last 30 days?”
  • “What metrics can I query from LinkedIn Ads?”
Or browse the Prompt Templates page in the Detrics app for 40+ ready-to-use prompts.

Using AI Contexts

AI Contexts let you pre-select which accounts to query. Instead of specifying platform and account every time, you create a Context once and reference it in your prompts. See AI Contexts to learn how to set them up.

Revoking access

To disconnect Detrics from ChatGPT:
  1. Go to ChatGPT Settings → Connected Apps
  2. Find the Detrics connector
  3. Click Remove or Disconnect
This immediately revokes the OAuth token. You can reconnect at any time from app.detrics.io/mcp/chatgpt.

Privacy note

When you query data through ChatGPT, Detrics returns query results as tool responses. OpenAI’s standard data handling policies apply to the conversation context. Your Detrics credentials are never shared with OpenAI — authentication uses OAuth tokens scoped to your session.

Troubleshooting

MCP connectors require:
  • A ChatGPT Plus, Team, or Enterprise subscription
  • Developer Mode enabled (see Step 1 above)
If you meet both requirements and still don’t see it, the feature may be rolling out to your account. Try again in a few days.
Try these steps:
  1. Clear your browser cookies and try again
  2. Make sure your Detrics account is active at app.detrics.io
  3. Try opening the connection flow in a private/incognito window
Make sure the URL is exactly https://mcp.detrics.io — no trailing slash, no /sse suffix.
The MCP connection may have expired or been disconnected.Fix:
  1. Go to ChatGPT Settings → Connected Apps
  2. Remove the existing Detrics connection
  3. Reconnect from app.detrics.io/mcp/chatgpt
Your ChatGPT connection works, but there are no platforms connected in your Detrics workspace.Fix:
  1. Go to app.detrics.io and connect at least one data source
  2. Or ask ChatGPT: “Connect my Meta Ads account” — it will generate an OAuth link for you
